-- MA,M.Phil and Ph.D in History from Jawaharlal Nehru University,(JNU), New Delhi. 
-- Qualified National Education Test, (NET) of UGC in 1987 and was eligible for JRF.
Fellowships: ICHR and UGC Fellowships for completion of Ph.D work in 1987-88.
Title of Ph.D Thesis: National  Movement  and Politics in Orissa:1920-29.
Teaching experiences:
-- Taught history As Lecturer at the Rajiv Gandhi Central University,(Formerly known as Arunachal University), Itanagar, from August 1988 to May 1997. 
-- As Reader and Associate Professor at the NCERT, New Delhi and in RIE, Bhubaneswar (a constituent of NCERT) from May 1997 to 2009.
-- As Professor and Head, Department of History at the National Defence Academy, Pune from May 2008 to May 2009 (after being selected by the UPSC, New Delhi).
